My Inspiration:
Most of the time my poetry is for me first, and then I get the privilege of sharing it with everyone else. My poem, “Six More Days” is no exception. While on my knees, leaning over my bed using it as if it were a desk, the words to this poem confronted me, humbled me, and has been challenging me since it has been penned.
I’ve come to realize that this parable isn’t one to be answered with just mere words, but rather with actions from a surrendered heart. It is then and only then that one will see that it really doesn’t matter how many days we have left here, as long as each one is spent to the Glory of our God.
I often think this way: Don’t live like it’s your last day on earth in panic and desperation but rather, live like it’s your first. Eyes wide open and grateful for every moment. Can you taste it? Joy lives here.
